New insulated basket from Diversified

Diversified Products has introduced its new insulated work platform basket that insulates workers up to voltages of 765 kV.

The IWP-765kV insulated work platform is designed to work with hydraulic telescopic cranes and digger derricks. The jib is insulated with a main structural fiberglass member, which is filament-wound with computer-controlled, continuous-roving epoxy/anhydride resin. It is also sealed to protect it from contaminants.

Operators can use radio controls in either fast or slow modes to simultaneously operate the telescope, boom and rotation functions. LED displays also allow operators to see self-diagnostic information.

Each unit features a 600-pound capacity and is 36 inches by 72 inches. Controls are located on the curbside near the top rail and the basket is gravity-hung with a closed-loop brake cylinder to dampen movement and lock it in to place.

The jib and controls meet or exceed ANSI A92.2, ASME B30.23, CSA Z150 and CSA 225 standards.
