Overhead Cranes handbook

The Crane Institute of America (CIoA) has released a new handbook called Overhead Cranes. The handbook focuses on training requirements, pre-shift inspection, operation, hoisting personnel, and more. According to CIoA, colour graphics clearly illustrate information about bridge cranes, gantry cranes, monorail systems, and underhung hoists.

“This handbook is a must-have for anyone working with overhead cranes,” said author and CIoA President Jim Headley. “It is an excellent resource as a safety reference or to use as a training aid.” Crane Institute of America has more than half a million books in print. The Crane Institute of America claims to have trained, qualified and/or certified over 100,000 equipment operators, inspectors, supervisors, trainers and riggers since 1987. It says its training, certification, products and services meet (and often exceed) government and industry requirements. The Institute says it strives to make the lifting industry one of the safest, most liability-free work environments in existence.
